XIN CHÀO. I'M...
👩🏻🎨 A PRODUCT & UX/UI DESIGNER
I am a product designer who is interested in enhancing the convenience of human life through technology and creativity. With a BSc in Information and Interaction Design, I spent the majority of time improving the problems I see through working and communicating actively with the officers and faculty members. My educational background and my experience equip me well to tackle problems with a critical mindset and create products that help alleviate the burden of life. My goal is to pursue a higher education in design studies, and during this time, I want to explore new facets of design at my discretion and see what possibilities I can create my combining them together.
🇻🇳 FROM VIETNAM
I hail from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. I love the modernity and the fast pace of the city where I lived. Life in the city was always so busy, but people would stop what they're doing to help me if something happens. Growing up, I thought that characteristic was infused deeply into me, so even though I was taught to be on my guard, I am always happy to be a part of something that makes someone's day.
🎨 IID GRADUATE
Currently, I am a soon-to-be graduate with an expected degree in Information and Interaction Design at Yonsei University. Because of one year of exchange in Amherst and my plan for early graduation, I didn't spend full 4 years here, but this place claims a big part of my heart because it helped me realize my dream from when it was still embryonic. Thank you for the most amazing three years and a half!

THESIS
Title: Exploring the Effectiveness of the Frameworkin in Duolingo: A Gamification Analysis for Promoting Foreign Language Learning Habits
MY DESIGN BACKGROUND
My undergrad major IID at Yonsei allows me to explore the marriage of information and interaction assets of design in a good numbers of way. I enjoyed the process of finding my own niches, such as creating UI for mobile app, designing how my team web looked, and making a photobook.
🎨 Information & Interaction Design
Besides my involvement in college's marketing and marketing activities, I also gained real-world experiences through designing newsletter and starting from scratch web & social media platforms that give audience an authentic digital experience with the startup and company that I interned as a student.
👩🏻💻 Design for Startup & Other
Using a combination of design tools like InDesign, XD, and Illustrator, I designed for my college's Instagram posts, edited university student press' interview videos, created graduation exhibition items, and made layouts for college's official biannual newsletter.
🏫 Design for College
I believe the epitome of design came from collective work. In my initial collaboration with a design team for a project, the challenges seemed formidable. Fast-forwarding to now, these team experiences led to the creation of superior products and the rapid incorporation of a diverse range of perspectives.

INTERESTING THINGS ABOUT PHO
Wrote for The Amherst Student, worked for a school office, and filmed for 8 faculty members during my exchange year.
That year where we leave our host institution is supposed to be spicy, fun, study-free. While I think it is important to embrace this exciting, adventurous route, I also think it is crucial to provide an exclusive testimonial of doing what might feel impossible, that being an exchange student only limited ones to certain things on campus. I became the most productive staff writer, with the highest number of articles written in one week.
Published two translated books 1 year after high school
I lost my grandma during COVID, and though she had a bunch of things on her wishlist, like witnessing my college graduation, those moments will forever be wishes left hanging. Still, I'm bursting with pride for the collaborative journey we shared. My grandma, an inspirational book author, hooked me up with a chance to team up with a publishing house in translating two volumes from a English science series for kids. That experience allowed me to sport my flair with linguistics and deepened my respect for Grandma's work as a writer. Now and then, I get this itch to pen my own book.

THE QUESTION I GET ASKED A LOT IS..
"HOW DO I PRONOUNCE YOUR NAME?"
Here is a list of references:
My primary/secondary school friends called me Phở, my English teachers & my TA leader called me Po/Poh, my Literature teacher in high school wrote down my name as Foe (as in Angelic Foe). My question is..
"HOW DO YOU LIKE TO PRONOUNCE MY NAME?"
